Investing in China Mainland made easy through A-Share accounts

On August 15 this year the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) announced that it would further liberalize the right of expats to open A-share securities accounts. Eligible investors can now open A-share accounts and the policy was officially implemented on September 15, 2018.
A-Share securities are shares of China Mainland-based companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges with shares only quoted in Chinese Renminmbi.
Requirements
The investor’s country of origin must have established a regulatory corporation with the CSRC. To find out if your country has done so, visit https://csrc.gov.cn/pub/newsite/gjb/jghz
Expats are also eligible if they fit a category listed below:
China A-Share categories for expats
The documents required are:
  • valid passport
  • photocopies of the passport information page + visa page
  • employment certificate issued by the employing company in Mainland China (stamped with company seal)
  • photocopy of business license or certificate for Uniform Social Credit Code of the employing company in Mainland China (also stamped with company seal)
  • debit card issued by a third-party depository bank
