Foreign experts in Wuhan plant trees of friendship

On March 10, more than 100 foreign experts and their family who are now living in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, gathered at the Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City to plant trees.

Ian Robertson, Australian, is a special professor of Huazhong Agricultural University. He cited the old Chinese saying “One generation plants the trees, another gets the shade” to wish a long-lasting friendship with China.

The annual tree-planting activity was launched by Hubei Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts on a voluntary basis since 2001. For 17 years, there have been a total of more than 1,700 foreign experts planted 16,000 trees for the three Foreign Expert Friendship Forests in Wuhan and Ezhou.
