Hubei awards 12 foreign experts “Chime Bell Prize”

The 2016 Hubei National Day Reception was held on September 29 in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the founding of PRC, where 12 foreign experts were awarded the “Chime Bell Prize” for their excellent work by Hubei provincial government.

The Chime Bell Prize was founded by Hubei provincial government in 1994, aiming to encourage and reward the foreign experts who make outstanding contributions in the economic construction and social development of this province. Till now, more than 200 foreign experts have won this award.

The 12 prize winners this year include Pierre Marie Gilles Bigot(French), Itagaki Takeshi(Japanese), Hossein Nafari (French), Paulo Rogerio Carrara Couto (Brazilian), Victor Dobrea (Romanian), Jia-Ning Xiang (Chinese American), Guryev Alexey (Russian), Enrique Jose Lavernia (American), Timothy Michael Kusky (American), Timo Jochen Balz (German), Michael Clemens Maria Roggendorf (German) and Lieuwe Kornelis Koopal (Dutch).

The principal officials of the Consulate Gernerals of U.S., France, South Korea and Britain in Wuhan, finalists of“Recruitment Program of Global Experts” (1000 Talent Plan) and Hubei Provincial “Recruitment Program of Foreign Experts (100 Foreign Experts Plan)”, representatives of foreign experts and their couples in Hubei, foreign institutions in Hubei and foreign enterprises, representatives of overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots attended the National Day Reception and awarding ceremony.
