This Week in Pictures – the African Students of Wuhan

On the second weekend of May, tucked away in A+ Han Street, a radiant soirée hosted by the African Students of Wuhan shone out throughout the rest of Hankou.

African Students Festival Awarding Ceremony

The night followed a series of rivalrous, joyous and important events hosted by the African Students of Wuhan: Zimbabwe had emerged victorious in a ”Wuhan African Cup of Nations”, the beauty of Africa was showcased in a fashion show with models flaunting ravishing handmade clothing, and a conference in April had the community identify problems and create solutions for African students in relation to Wuhan.

Whether it was in sports, academia, fashion or just general camaraderie, the student association took time to reward several highly contributing people – whilst providing a night that celebrated everyone.

  1. Football competition – (Wuhan) African Cup of Nations had had 16 teams fighting for the cup.

Winner – Zimbabwe

Second prize – Cameroon

Third prize – Zambia

2. The conference, where problems were addressed and solutions were drafted.

3. Fashion show – a presentation of the intricate works of Wuhan locals!

The ceremony also included the performance of “Drum Style Black Band”.
