Annual Woman of Wuhan Gala

The annual Women of Wuhan (WOW) Dinner Gala was held on December 2 at the Westin Wuhan Wuchang. It was attended by 180 guests from more than ten countries. Money raised by the dinner will be used to fund the education of children with parents affected by HIV/ AIDS. Considered to be the largest foreign fundraising event in Wuhan, the dinner has attracted guests from Belgium, Canada, Colombia, France, Poland, Russia, Spain, the Philippines, the U.S., the U.K., and China.

2017 WOW Gala

At the dinner, Gui Xi’en, Professor of Infectious Diseases from Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University and one of the founders of the education fund, delivered a presentation related to the HIV/AIDS situation in Hubei. In 2004, Elsa Gade founded WOW, a group committed to the well-being of others. On December 1 in 2008, the World AIDS Day, the education fund for Hubei children with parents affected by HIV/AIDS was inaugurated by Gui Xi’en and David Wilmots. In 2010, WOW began to raise money for the education fund.
