The end of the the universe, heartbreak & fluffy puppies in Wuhan cinemas this May

Don't be alarmed if a friend goes missing this May, Wuhan cinemas have an amazing lineup of movies next month!

Avengers, unite!

If anyone needs me this May you might have to leave a message, as there are some seriously good movies coming out and I’m ridiculously excited to see them all!

I may also be unavailable for the remainder of this month as I will need to binge my way through the preceding 17 Marvel movies, which according to BingeClock will take me 1 day, 12 hours and 2 minutes to get through them all back to back! If Marvel’s not your bag, there are a few other awesome movies coming out – but seriously, how can you not dig Marvel!?

Avengers: Infinity War

IMDB Rating: 9.8 stars!

Could this be the end of the journey for your favourite Marvel hero?

This Russo brothers flick promises adventure, fantasy and action. The outrageously good looking team of superheroes and their allies are willing to sacrifice everything in an attempt to thwart the evil Thanos (who has a face only a mother could love) in his evil attempt to destroy the universe.

Starring: Seriously my word limit for this article doesn’t allow me to list them all so here are a few to whet your appetite. The Holy Chris Trifecta, Evans, Hemsworth and Pratt,  Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Karen Gillan and Zoe Saldana.

Megan Leavy

IMDB Rating: 7.1

A woman and her puppy!

Based on the true story of a young Marine corporal whose unique discipline and bond with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment to Iraq. I’m a sucker for a movie with a strong female protagonist, but I’m also thinking you’ll need a box of tissues for this one!

Starring: Kate Mara, Roman Rodriguez and Draco Malfoy…I mean Tom Felton.

A Quiet Place

IMDB Rating: 8.1

I’m always really intrigued to see movies that feature couples who are couples in real life, especially if said couples are really, really ridiculously good looking. A Quiet Place (directed by John Krasinski), is a drama, horror sci-fi film about a family forced to live in silence as they are being hunted by creatures who hunt their prey by sound. I held my breath during the whole trailer!

Starring: Emily Blunt, John Krasinski and Millicent Simmonds

Solo: A Star Wars Story

IMDB Rating: Pending

The latest instalment to the Star Wars Saga sees Han Solo (who I’m just now realising is named Han, not Hans! I always just assumed he was Swedish, now I don’t know what to think!) venture into a dark criminal underworld, where he meets his future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the rebellion.

Starring: Emilia Clarke, Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

  1. Hi,

I am new in Wuhan and wouldn’t mind joining to watch any of the movies (although I’m pretty interested in Avengers!!). I’d like to join if you to the cinema. Do you have any day/session in mind?

    Many thanks!
