Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Culture released statistics recently, saying Wuhan, capital city of central China, has boasted 108 museums by the end of 2016.
Among which, 28 museums are owned by the cultural-relic department and the rest 80 are run by the private. A museum system integrated the state-owned museums, professional museums, private museums, comprehensive and themed museums has begun to take shape.
In 2014, all the museums in Wuhan totally received 8,256,200 visitors, which increased to 10,309,400 in 2015, exceeding the 10-million mark for the first time. In 2016, the total visits broke the 10-million mark again.
